Philly Baseball Insider started in 2003. Initially, the web site was part of the Rivals network, which later transitioned into the Scout network. In July of 2013, PBI left the Scout network and has functioned as a completely independent entity since that departure.
Philly Baseball Insider was founded by Chuck Hixson and has been operated under his direction as Managing Editor since then.
Chuck Hixson grew up a baseball fan and that passion for the game has never left. Unfortunately, what Chuck had in passion, he lacked in talent, so he became a student of the game and has made a career writing about the game for entities such as Pinstripes Magazine, FOX Sports and USA Today. He has also talked about the game as the host of the morning show on WTKZ in Allentown, Pa in the late '90s.
Chuck is also a frequent contributor on PA Sports Now, hosted by Jed Donahue.
