Moniak, Singer win IronPigs season awards

Outfielder Mickey Moniak and reliever Jeff Singer were named the IronPigs hitter and pitcher of the season for 2021. Moniak, a first overall pick in the 2016 Draft and spent some time with the Phillies this season, making his major league debut last season with Philadelphia. Singer, a South Jersey resident, has worked his way through the Phillies organization and spent the entire season with Lehigh Valley.

Moniak has a slash line of 1-3-.128/.241/.191 in 29 major league games over the past two seasons. With Lehigh Valley this season, Moniak hit 15 home runs and drove in 65 runs whil batting .238/.299/.447 in 99 games with the IronPigs. Moniak was drafted out of La Costa Canyon High School in Carlsbad, California.

Singer, a 28-year old left-hander, graduated from Holy Cross High School in Delran, New Jersey and attended Monmouth University and Rutgers University and went undrafted. Singer pitched for the independent Camden Riversharks in 2015 before signing with the Phillies in 2016. The Phillies sent him to the Arizona Fall League following the 2016 season. With Lehigh Valley in 2021, Singer pitched in 44 games, all in relief, with a record of 3-3 with a 4.75 ERA and three saves.
